Bainbridge Island’s July 3 Street Dance is back with good tunes, drinks, eats, and dancing in the streets. The free and free-wheeling event is Thursday 6-11 p.m. on Winslow Way. In its 27th year, the popular downtown party is organized by the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association (BIDA) and is one of the nonprofit organization’s biggest annual fundraisers.

Music
Two stages will host live music and DJ hits. The Main Stage near Madrone Lane will kick off the evening at 6 p.m. with Avalara’s blues band The Tax Authorities. Then Bainbridge local fave Mike Sharp & The Lubricators will hit the stage. And finally, back by popular demand, Mutha Knows Best will get funky. A second stage will keep the beat all evening with DJ-spun dance music.

Food (cash only)
Beginning at 6 p.m., the Bainbridge Island Historical Museum will serve grilled hot dogs, and local favorites, including BI BBQ, Casa Rojas, Clara’s Wok, Bainbridge Crepes, BonBon, Bake Shop & Espresso, and Scoops, Nuts and Brats!, will serve up the works.

Beer & Wine Garden (cash only)
The Beer & Wine Garden will be back in full swing. Bainbridge Island Brewing will serve locally brewed craft beers, and Harbor Square Wine Shop will serve wine, including a limited quantity of a premium selection.

Family Fun
Sidewalk chalk drawing and face painting will be back, courtesy of KiDiMu and Calico Cat.

Street Closure
Winslow Way will be closed to vehicles July 3 from 3 to 11:30 p.m. from just west of the Town & Country parking lot to Madison.

Sponsors
BIDA thanks the event sponsors Columbia Bank (Title Sponsor), Harrison Medical Center and Avalara (Presenting Sponsors), and John L. Scott (Main Stage Sponsor).

Volunteers Needed
BIDA is looking for volunteers to take shifts in the Beer & Wine Garden (21 years old and up) and perform garbage and recycling maintenance. All volunteers receive an event T-shirt and a hot dog and soda ticket. Those interested should contact Elizabeth at events@bainbridgedowntown.org or 206-291-7714.
